Our Story
Kaimoana Foods was founded by Ian, Joe and Rick Currie — a family with deep roots in New Zealand animal nutrition, going back to Denver Feeds in 1997.
We saw a gap in the market. New Zealand salmon, kingfish, and trout farmers were relying heavily on imported feed from Tasmania and further afield. This meant compromised freshness, a massive carbon footprint from shipping, and a lack of flexibility for local farmers.
So we decided to change that.
By building New Zealand’s only dedicated local marine aquaculture feed manufacturing facility, we brought control, freshness, and quality back home to Aotearoa.
